Cute as a button…..Posted by scrapguy on Apr 10, 2013 in Cards, Design Team, Designers, Pink by Design Stamps, Stamping, Techniques | 1 comment
Hello everyone–Scrapguy here with our technique post of the week. We are focusing on buttons and using them in our projects. They make great single accents, closures, centers of flowers, and even wheels on a vacuum as you will see in the projects below. You can fill an entire shape with different sizes, use them as ornaments on a Christmas tree, the possibilities are endless really. They can also cause a stir with the age old question–do you finish them off with ribbon, twine, or thread through the holes or do you leave them open–there are truly two different camps on this one but that’s the best part of paper crafting–it’s all in what you want cause it’s your project!
So here is the project I did–I took a traditional approach and used my button as a focal accent. My sentiment is from 29 and Holding stamp set.
Rebekah made this super cute card using Giant Greetings stamp set. She used her button as the center of the flower–what a great idea!
Lisa really took an out of the box approach and used tiny buttons as the wheels to the vacuum from the Heat Things Up stamp set. I think that was a brilliant idea and just may have to borrow it the next time I use this stamp set.
Don’t forget we have the weekly challenge going and all you have to do is link you project to our Monday post! It’s a super easy way to get a free set of Pink by Design stamps, and who wouldn’t want more PbD stamps.
Make it a great one-
